State confirms West Nile virus in Marlborough mosquito samples
MARLBOROUGH — Massachusetts health officials confirmed that West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected in Marlborough, and the city's Board of Health issued a public notice urging residents to take precautions against mosquito bites.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health notified the city's Board of Health that mosquitoes collected in Marlborough tested positive for West Nile virus, according to a public notice posted on the city's website. Marlborough Patch also covered the finding this week, reporting that health officials are warning residents after the virus was confirmed locally.
Separately, Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems will become the city's new provider of emergency ambulance services, according to a press release from the mayor's office.

Marlborough Public Schools has opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year, directing families to required enrollment forms and documentation on the district's website. The district's 2026 Summer Programs continue, and work on the Richer Building Project remains listed among the district's active initiatives.
