Marlborough City Council reelects Ossing president, Robey vice president for 2024

MARLBOROUGH — January 1, 2024 — Marlborough City Council seats unanimous 2024 leadership slate at brief New Year's Day meeting. At-large Councilor Michael H. Ossing was elected president on an 11-vote roll call after being nominated by Councilor Don Landers, and at-large Councilor Kathleen D. Robey was elected vice president, also unanimously, on a nomination from Councilor Patricia Brown. Vice-President-elect Sean A. Navin served as president pro tem for the leadership votes. The council also voted 11-0 to carry its 2023 operating rules into 2024 "until new rules are adopted," on a motion by Robey. Ossing said he was "honored and humbled" by the support and pledged to "move Marlborough forward." The 2024 meeting schedule and committee assignments will be issued before the next meeting on Jan. 8.
