Marlborough Names Coastal Medical Transportation New Ambulance Provider
Marlborough has a new partner answering emergency medical calls: Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced Monday that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems is now the city's provider of emergency ambulance services, replacing the prior contractor.
TOWN HALL
Mayor Dumais's office said in a press release that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems, known as Coastal, has taken over as the city's emergency ambulance provider, a shift the mayor's office described as a welcome addition to Marlborough's public safety network. The announcement did not detail contract terms or a start date for the transition.
Separately, City Hall posted a public notice Monday alerting residents that early voting hours begin Tuesday, timed to the state primary election. The notice arrived alongside broader coverage of Tuesday's contested races, described further below.
SCHOOLS
Marlborough Public Schools has opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year, according to the district's website, which points families to required forms and documentation ahead of the new year. The district's Richer Building Project also remains listed among its active initiatives. Students in grades 1 through 12 return to class Wednesday, and the School Committee's Policy Sub-Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday as well.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Marlborough Public Library hosted its Read to a Dog program Monday evening at the West Main Street building, giving young readers a chance to practice with a therapy dog. The library follows Tuesday with an English Conversation Circle at 10 a.m., and its Board of Library Trustees meets the same day.
