Marlborough Plans Mosquito Spraying After West Nile Virus Detected
MARLBOROUGH — Massachusetts health officials have confirmed West Nile virus in mosquito samples collected in Marlborough, prompting the city's Board of Health to announce plans for targeted spraying. The finding comes as Marlborough Public Schools opens registration for the new school year and as early, in-person voting for the state primary continues at City Hall through Friday.
TOWN HALL Marlborough's Board of Health said the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has confirmed West Nile virus in mosquito samples collected in the city. A separate public notice said the city, led by Mayor J. Christian Dumais, would carry out designated-area spraying in response. Neither notice specified an exact spraying schedule as of Wednesday evening.
SCHOOLS Marlborough Public Schools opened registration for the 2026-2027 school year, directing families to the district's required enrollment forms and documentation.
