Marlborough School Committee ratifies paraeducator, administrator union contracts

MARLBOROUGH — August 27, 2024 — Marlborough School Committee ratifies two union MOUs and clears a four-year backlog of unapproved minutes. The committee on Aug. 27 unanimously accepted memoranda of understanding with the Marlborough Paraeducator Union and the Marlborough School Administrator Association, then suspended its rules to approve minutes from 12 workshop and special meetings dating to September 2020. Member Katherine Hennessey also moved approval of the full Chapter J student-policy block and Chapter K community-relations block, calling most edits renumbering and gender-neutral language changes. HR Director Patty Brown reported 31 open positions districtwide, down from 55 a year ago, with only three teacher slots lacking candidates. Finance Director Matt Wells said all bus driver routes are filled and the district returned $3.10 in unspent FY24 funds to the city.
