Marlborough Welcomes New Ambulance Service Provider
Marlborough is getting a new provider for emergency ambulance service, Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced this week, a shift in 911 medical response that lands alongside word that the city's electricity aggregation program will keep rates below National Grid's through January.

Mayor Dumais announced that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems will take over as the city's provider of emergency ambulance services, a change the mayor's office framed as a win for residents who rely on 911 medical transport. The announcement did not specify a transition date or the outgoing provider, but it marks one of the more consequential operational changes to come out of City Hall this summer.
Separately, the city posted a public notice on its Community Choice Power Supply Program covering August 2026 through January 2027, locking in a new aggregation electricity rate for residents and businesses enrolled in the program. Marlborough Patch also reported on the rate change this week, noting that customers in the city's aggregation program will pay less than National Grid's standard offer starting in August.
The city also posted a legal notice regarding renewal of Comcast's cable license with the City of Marlborough, a routine but required step in the franchise renewal process.
SCHOOLS
Marlborough Public Schools is directing families toward registration for the 2026-2027 school year, with the district posting required forms and documentation on its website ahead of the new academic year. The district's summer programming, including its summer learning offerings, remains underway across the school system.

Marlborough Public Library continues to run an active slate of weekly programming out of its West Main Street building, including yoga and wellness classes, English-language conversation groups, children's story and animal-visit programs, and adult book-discussion and craft sessions, with several new sessions on the calendar for the coming week.
