Retirement Board Adopts Scenario 3 Funding Plan to Reach Full Funding by 2029

Marlborough Retirement Board unanimously adopts revised funding schedule to ease taxpayer burden. The board voted to accept Scenario 3 of three proposed appropriation funding schedules presented by actuaries, which applies the statutory minimum payment of 95 percent to both FY2027 and FY2028, deferring $271,893 in remaining liability to fiscal year 2029. City Comptroller Brian Doheny recommended the plan, noting Federal Aid reductions for FY2028, while City Councilor Michael Ossing praised its benefit to residents.
The board also unanimously authorized a $9,500 interim valuation by KMS Actuaries effective January 1, 2026.
