Marlborough Finance Committee sends four mayoral orders to Council on 5-0 votes

MARLBOROUGH — January 29, 2024 — Marlborough Finance Committee clears four mayoral orders on unanimous 5-0 votes. Mayor J. Christian Dumas won committee backing for a $40,000 free-cash transfer to fund a CivicPlus website redesign — a one-time fee that moves the city from Level B to Level A service and raises the annual recurring charge from about $21,000 to $28,000 — and for a $100,000 transfer from the PEG fund to WMCT-TV. Station Director Ryan Maillet said the money will cover an emergency mid-February replacement of the six-year-old central playback system, swapping out TightRope Media for Castus, "a far superior product." The committee also lifted the public safety revolving fund cap from $120,000 to $143,520, drawing on Patriot Ambulance's $142,038.97 annual dispatch fee, and approved Chapter 125 amendments adding library and DPW positions and raising library pages from $10.77 to $15 an hour.
