Marlborough returns high school to hybrid Monday after zero active cases

MARLBOROUGH — October 2, 2020 — Marlborough returns high school to hybrid learning Monday, eight days ahead of schedule. The School Committee voted 7-0 Friday to bring Marlborough High back to its hybrid model on Oct. 5 after Superintendent Michael Bergeron reported zero active COVID-19 cases at the school and "very little, if no spread beyond the original cases" that prompted the Sept. 22 move to full remote. Sports and extracurriculars resume the same day. Bergeron said he would work with Principal Dan Riley to find Cohort B make-up days after the Nov. 3 professional development day. Mayor Arthur Vigeant announced two new part-time bilingual "COVID ambassadors" at 19 hours a week and said future remote moves will avoid fixed return dates so students can return as soon as cases clear.
