Urban Affairs Committee advances 655 Farm Road contractor yard permit with revised conditions
MARLBOROUGH — May 1, 2023 — Marlborough Urban Affairs advances Farm Road contractor yard permit after rewriting conditions. The committee voted 4-0 to recommend a special permit for the Trombetta Family Limited Partnership's landscape contractor operation at 655 Farm Road, then sent the amended decision to the city solicitor for final form. Members capped the site at 16 leased trailer areas and 16 containers — down from a drafting error of 17 — and added language letting the owner reconfigure trailer locations "as needed to accommodate existing and future tenants" without a new permit, while requiring council approval to expand the total. Operating hours stay 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday but now expressly allow snow and emergency-response trips outside that window. City Engineer Tom DiPersio's substitute stormwater language and Conservation officer Priscilla Ryder's new open-space condition were both adopted. Attorney William Bruin represented the applicant; the statutory decision deadline is June 27.
