Marlborough City Council approves Cytiva TIF in unanimous vote

MARLBOROUGH — November 4, 2024 — Marlborough City Council unanimously approves Cytiva tax increment financing for $25 million expansion at 100 Results Way. The 10-0 vote, taken Monday after a suspension of the rules, locks in an agreement with Global Life Sciences USA LLC, Cytiva, and Atlantic Marlboro Realty 4 LLC to add 108 jobs and absorb 50,000 square feet of recently vacated space, with 23 workers relocating from 150 Lock Drive by 2026. Finance Committee Chair John J. Irish said the panel directed City Solicitor Jason Grossfield to clarify that the positions count as new or relocated Marlborough jobs and cannot be performed remotely. Economic Development director Meredith Harris told the committee the expansion will draw 3,000 to 5,000 annual visitors who will "stay at our hotels, dine in our restaurants, and support our local businesses." The council also approved a $240,000 transfer establishing a McGee Farm Mitigation Stabilization Account and accepted a $1,000 Cummings Foundation gift for senior fuel assistance.
