Marlborough City Council unanimously denies 1 Maple Terrace rezoning bid

MARLBOROUGH — February 10, 2025 — Marlborough City Council unanimously denies 1 Maple Terrace rezoning into Marlboro Village District. The 10-0 vote Monday night followed unfavorable recommendations from both the Planning Board, 5-0, and the Urban Affairs and Housing Committee, 3-0. At-Large Councilor Kathleen D. Robey, reporting out the committee, cited a district map that showed the boundary "skirting any residential zones" and warned "there was no guarantee a project shown would be built." Ward 5 Councilor John J. Irish reported the Finance Committee's 4-0 recommendation to approve $928,828 in mid-year transfers requested by Mayor J. Christian Dumas. The council also referred a Washville Car Wash special permit for 223 East Main St. to Urban Affairs with a March 10 public hearing, and confirmed Conservation Commission reappointments recognizing 56, 46, 35 and six years of service from Edward Clancy, Alan White, David Williams and William Dunbar.
