Marlborough council refers $19.9 million capital package to finance, approves landscaper permit
MARLBOROUGH — March 14, 2022 — Marlborough council moves $19.9M capital request and clears J&D Landscape permit. The City Council on March 14 voted 11-0 to refer Mayor Arthur Vigeant's $19.91 million capital projects package — including $6.675 million in infrastructure bonds and a $1.448 million free-cash transfer — to the Finance Committee, which meets March 21. The council then approved a special permit, 10-0 with one abstention, for J&D Landscape Contractors to operate a contractors yard at 101 Airport Boulevard, Unit 12, following the dismissal of McDonald's Corp. v. Raising Cane's Restaurant LLC, Marlborough City Council et al. At-Large Councilor Kathleen D. Robey called the dismissal "very good news for the city council and the city." Vigeant reported five active COVID-19 cases, a 1.65 percent positivity rate, and 79 percent of residents fully vaccinated. The council also accepted a $19,500 Massachusetts Cultural Council grant and an $80,436 Elder Affairs grant for the Council on Aging.
