MARLBOROUGH — June 16, 2025 — Marlborough Finance Committee unanimously advances $15.55 million capital bond and MMEA contract transfer. The committee voted 5-0 to recommend a $226,882.36 transfer — $130,388.80 from reserve for salaries and $96,493.56 from free cash — to fund the ratified Marlborough Municipal Employees Association contract submitted by Mayor J. Christian Dumais. Members then split the FY2026 capital request into four bond votes: $9.65 million for roads, the Court Street garage, parking lots off Williams Street and the Jaworek School generator; $3.5 million for Lakeshore Drive, Birch Road and Matheson Drive pump stations; $1.4 million for Turner Ridge and Stonehill sewer mains; and $1 million for Berlin Road water main replacement. DPW Commissioner Theodore Scott warned the Court Street garage has "major issues with some of the steel" if deferred. Dumais said free cash sits near $2.6 million, with $1.4 million in snow and ice costs ahead.
