Personnel Committee advances building commissioner, three Conservation reappointments

MARLBOROUGH — May 3, 2021 — Marlborough Personnel Committee advances building commissioner Tim Twi, postpones License Board slate. Chaired by Councilor Sean Navin, the committee voted 3-0 on May 3 to recommend Twi, a 30-year building official most recently with contractor Four Leaf, for a three-year term, citing his plans for online permitting and archive digitization. The committee also reappointed Conservation Commission members Edward Clancy, Dennis Demers and David Williams, amending Mayor Arthur Vigeant's submission to give all three the three-year terms required by state law rather than the staggered two- and three-year terms originally proposed. Three License Board appointments — Mary Jo Naraki, Greg Matrakas and David Bouvier, each for six years — were postponed 2-1 pending a legal opinion on staggering, after Councilor Kathleen Robey read Chapter 138 Section 5 into the record. The committee adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
