Urban Affairs committee advances Taj Estates site plan, postpones Lake Williams condo vote

MARLBOROUGH — November 10, 2025 — Marlboro committee advances Taj Estates site plan and tables 187-unit Lazott Drive condo decision. The Urban Affairs Committee voted 4-1 Monday to recommend the amended Main Street site plan, with attorney Brian Falk confirming a $40,000 payment in lieu for four eliminated on-street parking spaces plus $70,000 for seven on-site spaces not provided. The committee also backed purchasing a city parcel for an appraised $11,600, with the developer required to fully reconstruct the Main-to-Devens stairs under a 100 percent performance bond. On the Glenford at Lake Williams project, Falk offered to raise a $25,000 Lake Williams trail contribution to $50,000, but Council President Michael Ossing and Councilor Laura Frascillo Wagner pressed for additional mitigation toward $125,000 in ball field upgrades and the West Side fire station, prompting a postponement. A 3-2 vote also recommended the Ames Village overlay district for up to 90 units, with a 200-foot maximum setback from Ames and Forest streets.
