Urban Affairs Committee approves Chipotle drive-through at 661 Boston Post Road East
MARLBOROUGH — October 26, 2022 — Urban Affairs Committee approves Chipotle drive-through at 661 Boston Post Road East. The Marlborough City Council's Urban Affairs and Housing Committee voted 5-0 twice Wednesday to amend a special permit and site plan for Aboujaoude Realty Company, allowing a standalone Chipotle with drive-through to replace a previously approved bank pad and retail addition at the Wayside District plaza already under construction with a Starbucks. Attorney Falk, joined by Bobby Trickett and Bohler Engineering's Matt Bombasi, said the Site Plan Review Committee had issued a favorable recommendation after three meetings and no one had opposed the Oct. 3 public hearing. Councilor Doucette pressed for pedestrian crosswalk assurances, warning the use change would "really increase the amount of traffic on that street," and was satisfied when Bombasi pointed to an existing crosswalk on plan sheet C201 at Gilkiss Circle. The full council is expected to vote Nov. 7, with what the chair called the city's first master sign plan and a separate Starbucks ordering-board sign special permit also queued for November hearings.
