Urban Affairs panel recommends Garden Remedies relocation to Lakeside Avenue
MARLBOROUGH — January 13, 2025 — Marlborough Urban Affairs Committee backs Garden Remedies move and extended hours in split vote. The committee voted 3-1 Monday to recommend an amended special permit relocating the dispensary from 416 Boston Post Road East to 423 Lakeside Avenue, with hours extended to 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Vice Chair Sean Navin dissented, citing three retailers "within a mile and a half of each other" and saying he was "not necessarily buying that it's a net positive for the city." Ward 4 Councilor Kathleen Brown supported the move after visiting the existing store. Chair Laura Roby noted the city is capped at four marijuana permits — 20 percent of its 19 off-premise liquor licenses. The committee also voted 4-0 to recommend a special permit converting 30 Maple Street from two units to three, with conditions surrendering an illegal fourth unit and planting arborvitae along the rear fence.
