Marlboro School Committee promotes Ron Sanborn to elementary curriculum director

MARLBOROUGH — April 26, 2022 — Marlboro names Ron Sanborn director of elementary curriculum and overhauls seven district policies. Superintendent Michael Bergeron appointed Sanborn, the Jarc Elementary principal and recently named Massachusetts Principal of the Year, to the central-office curriculum role and tapped Rupal Patel to succeed him at Jarc. The School Committee unanimously approved a one-time, non-pensionable 2 percent payment to non-affiliated staff, accepted an anonymous $1,800 gift to the Kane School, and signed off on roughly $58,000 in FY22 transfers, mostly to cover paraprofessional contract overages. CFO Doug Diaz reported the district applied to renew the Community Eligibility Provision at a 95.5 percent federal reimbursement rate, up from 78.6 percent, with high school meal participation already up "10 percent." Members also retired the old harassment, library and student ID policies and adopted six replacements drafted with legal counsel.
