Marlborough City Council re-elects Ossing president, Robey vice president for 2025

MARLBOROUGH — January 6, 2025 — Marlborough re-elects Ossing council president as Maple Terrace rezoning runs into neighborhood opposition. The City Council on Jan. 6 elected Michael H. Ossing president and Kathleen D. Robey vice president, both 10-0, with Sean A. Navin serving as president pro tem. Councilors then heard a rescheduled hearing on Justin Millet's bid to add 1 Maple Terrace to the Marlborough Village District for a three-family build; developer Stas Burden called it "spot zoning" and warned the district could theoretically allow a six-story, 60-unit building with no required parking. Councilor Mark A. Oram said he could not support the change; the item stays in Urban Affairs pending a Jan. 27 Planning Board recommendation. The council also voted 10-0 to transfer $125,000 from free cash to replace a 15-year-old IT server room HVAC unit, and 9-0 to approve a Farm Road utility pole with double-pole removal conditions.
