Marlborough council approves Farm Road pole with double-pole removal condition
MARLBOROUGH — August 22, 2022 — Marlborough swears in six new firefighters and tightens conditions on a Farm Road pole petition. Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Emanuelson introduced Robert Fadgen, Jacob Thompson, Tucker Holt, Roland Saucier, Andrew Anderson and Josiah David to the City Council, while Chief Kevin Gogan recapped a 25-acre brush fire near the Desert conservation area that drew "mutual aid from over 50 communities" and was contained by late Sunday with no injuries. The council voted 10-0 to approve a National Grid petition for a new pole 78 on Farm Road after At-Large Councilor Kathleen D. Robey insisted that removal of existing double poles be written in as an explicit special condition, not folded into standard boilerplate. Councilors also accepted a $39,154.36 State 911 grant for dispatcher training and approved a Mass Electric easement for transformer equipment at the West Main Street public library.
