Marlborough Council refers 17-unit armory conversion to Urban Affairs

MARLBOROUGH — August 21, 2023 — Marlborough Council advances 17-unit armory conversion and creates new traffic-constable role. Attorney Brian Falk and applicant George Boyatsis presented plans through Lincoln 358 Realty LLC to convert the vacant 1905 National Guard armory at 358 Lincoln St. into 14 two-bedroom, two one-bedroom and one three-bedroom units with 32 on-site parking spaces and an all-electric building, referred to Urban Affairs after Councilor Dumas recused. The council approved a Finance Committee recommendation, requested by Police Chief David Giorgi, creating a Special Traffic Constable position at $62.50 per hour at no new cost to the city. Councilors accepted a $10,000 National Council on Aging grant for senior COVID-19 and flu shots, approved a Chase Bank drive-through ATM at 189 Boston Post Road West 10-0-1, and approved a 431 Lincoln St. sign modification 9-1, with Kathleen Robey opposed. The council adjourned into executive session on JW Capital Partners LLC v. City of Marlborough.
