Marlborough council sends 475-unit Post Road Realty permit to solicitor

MARLBOROUGH — October 2, 2023 — Marlborough council sends 475-unit Post Road Realty special permit to city solicitor. Urban Affairs Chair Kathleen D. Robey reported the committee's Sept. 26 approval of the draft decision for the project at Simarano Drive, Cedar Hill Street and Green District Boulevard, which includes 475 residential units, 4,800 square feet of commercial space and 754 parking spaces. At Council President Michael H. Ossing's suggestion, the committee redirected the developer's 5 percent affordable-unit buyout payments into the West Side Fire Station Stabilization Account, 83600-32900, replacing language leaving the destination to later council designation. The council voted 11-0 to suspend the rules and refer the amended draft to the solicitor. Separately, members continued the Red Spring Road Overlay hearing to Oct. 23 — At-Large Councilor Mark A. Oram recused — and filed the Finance Committee's recommendation on a $4,925,000 public-safety communications transfer. The meeting adjourned in 14 minutes.
