Marlborough wins state approval for Marriott vaccination clinic targeting 750 doses a day

MARLBOROUGH — February 22, 2021 — Marlborough lands a 750-dose-per-day regional vaccination clinic at the Felton Street Marriott. Mayor Arthur Vigeant told the City Council on Feb. 22 that Marlborough Hospital will operate the site as a state "mini mega" clinic open to any Massachusetts resident, with appointments through the state portal and tentative opening the week of March 1. The city's Board of Health has administered 1,126 doses through phase one, and active cases are around 70, the lowest since Veterans Day. The council voted 11-0 to continue a public hearing on a Starbucks LED order-confirmation sign at 133 South Bolton St. to March 8 after Bridge Street resident James Matikis said he had seen no plans, telling councilors, "I really don't want this on my property." Councilors also referred a $10.4 million DPW infrastructure transfer, a $1.25 million parks bond-payment transfer and a request to rescind $4.89 million in bonds to the Finance Committee.
