Urban Affairs Committee recommends two special permits in 25-minute session

MARLBOROUGH — October 13, 2021 — Marlborough Urban Affairs Committee advances mobile home park split and Wayside Crossing drive-thrus on 5-0 votes. The committee recommended approval of a special permit dividing the 119-site Post Road Mobile Home Park at 181 Boston Post Road East into a 10-site front parcel and a 109-site rear parcel, with attorney Christopher Flood and owner Henry Winske explaining the split enables tenants to purchase the rear park while preserving redevelopment options up front. A second special permit covers drive-thru facilities for a new Starbucks and a bank at Wayside Crossing Plaza, 6661 Boston Post Road East; the committee amended the traffic-flow condition at City Engineer Tom DiPersio's request to add signage at the Descenzo Boulevard intersection aimed at reducing "illegal left turns into the target driveway."
