Marlborough Zoning Board approves variance withdrawal without prejudice

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Marlborough Zoning Board approves variance withdrawal without prejudice. Under Chair Ralph Loftin, the board unanimously voted 4-0 to approve the withdrawal of a variance application by Niel and Geraldine Fossile for their property at 0 Dudley Street. The applicants sought relief from the required 120-foot frontage mandate, with their parcel containing only 91.14 feet, and also sought relief for an irregular lot shape under city code.

Board Chair Loftin explained the board could not grant relief for hardships created by the applicants themselves. After the board's position became clear, the applicants chose to withdraw without prejudice, preserving their right to reapply.
