Personnel Committee advances five appointments to three Marlborough boards

MARLBOROUGH — September 19, 2022 — Marlborough Personnel Committee clears five board appointments on unanimous votes. The committee voted 3-0 on each of three orders Monday to forward David LaBrucciere to the Disability Commission, reappoint Brendan Downey and seat Stephanie Newton on the Historical Commission, and appoint Kathleen "Kathy" Fadul and Judith Benedetto to the Council on Aging. LaBrucciere, a former 11-year employee of nonprofit Thrive Support and Advocacy, told members his 47-year-old son is developmentally disabled and deaf and receives 15 hours of weekly supports from Advocates. Downey said his priority for a second term is "continuity" on initiatives including a historic-sign program. The committee also read a letter from Council President Michael Ossing announcing his departure from the COA board after five years and endorsing both new appointees, saying the board is "in great hands with Chairman Jim Confrey."
