Personnel Committee advances two Council on Aging appointments

MARLBOROUGH — May 16, 2022 — Marlborough advances two Council on Aging appointments on unanimous Personnel Committee votes. The committee voted 2-0 on May 16 to recommend the reappointment of Joseph Bisol, current Council on Aging vice chair and treasurer of Bay Path Elder Services, and the new appointment of Zella Hashi, a retired Marlborough Hospital employee and Friends of Marlborough Seniors member, each to four-year terms expiring May 4, 2026. Bisol told the committee he wants the Council on Aging to consider a survey to expand fitness and yoga programming so seniors are not "left out," and noted Bay Path's July 1 merger with Greater Boston agency Springwell will reshape his regional board seat. Council President Michael Ossing, who also sits on the Bay Path board, called Bisol "an extremely valuable member" and Hashi's months of unpaid attendance at Council on Aging meetings "commendable." Both recommendations now go to the full City Council.
