Personnel Committee recommends LaVenture for second Planning Board term

MARLBOROUGH — March 21, 2022 — Personnel Committee unanimously recommends George LaVenture for second Planning Board term. The committee voted 3-0 on order 22-185-11 to send the reappointment, which runs through Feb. 1, 2027, to the full City Council for confirmation. LaVenture, a Marlborough resident since 1995 and former owner of Trinity Consulting, cited his role on the subdivision rules working group as a first-term highlight, telling members the Planning Board's regulations had not been substantively updated since "the very early '90s." Councilor Nevin thanked him for board-level work on sidewalks, curbs and tree removals that "sounds like the minutiae, but what it does is create a cohesive community." Councilor Robey told LaVenture, "Sometimes I don't agree with you, but at least you do your homework." The committee adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
