Personnel Committee unanimously recommends Warren, Villard for council confirmation

MARLBOROUGH — September 20, 2021 — Personnel Committee advances Warren and Villard appointments on twin 3-0 votes. The Marlborough Personnel Committee on Sept. 20 unanimously recommended Linda Warren for a three-year Council on Aging seat and John Villard for a three-year term as principal assessor, sending both to the full City Council for confirmation. Warren, a 45-year resident, cited roughly three years as Marlborough's SHINE counselor and prior stints in Northborough and Hudson; SHINE, she said, counsels residents "new to Medicare" and those with MassHealth billing problems. Villard, on the job since Aug. 2 after 10 years in Worcester's assessing department, said Marlborough's caseload is "a little more manageable" than Worcester's, flagged a fiscal 2024 state revaluation deadline, and said he has already hired a senior clerk with 12 years of experience and continued pending Appellate Tax Board cases.
