Conservation Commission continues Heritage Farm hearing, forcing ZBA meeting delay

MARLBOROUGH — August 6, 2020 — Conservation Commission delays Heritage Farm draft conditions, forcing ZBA continuance. The commission on Aug. 6 voted unanimously to continue the notice-of-intent hearing on the four-building multifamily project at 339 Boston Post Road, with Chair Edward Clancy telling attorney Brian Falk, "I want to wrap it up on the 20th." Members objected to a drainage outfall and riprap apron crossing the 20-foot no-disturb zone, a bocce court within the inner 100-foot riverfront area, and an unspecified pool filtration and backwash plan. Tim McGuire of Goddard Consulting argued the project complies with 310 CMR 10.58 by netting roughly 1,500 square feet of restored vegetated riverfront. Conservation Agent Priscilla Ryder said the city solicitor has advised the Zoning Board of Appeals it cannot act before conservation issues its order, scuttling a planned ZBA special meeting. The commission also approved 6-0 negative determinations at 489 and 315 Stephen Street and a certificate of compliance for DEP file 212-1198 at 150 Hayes Memorial Drive.
