Conservation Commission continues McGee Farm hearing after last-minute plan changes

MARLBOROUGH — August 20, 2020 — Marlborough Conservation Commission delays McGee Farm decision after 5 p.m. plan revisions. Chair Edward Clancy refused to issue an order of conditions on the 339 Boston Post Road multi-family project by WP Margo Mass Owner LLC after attorney Brian Falk's team emailed revised drawings the afternoon of the Aug. 20 hearing, saying he has "a very hard time" approving anything without paper plans. Three residents — Victoria Rule, Arthur Scura and Cindy Zomar — spoke against the four-building project, with Zomar citing a state Department of Environmental Protection letter stating "other alternative plans do exist that would reduce impacts on natural resources." The commission also accepted as a minor modification a revised 615 William Street design by engineer Bruce Alec that drops the building from 10 to nine units and 20,900 to 18,800 square feet and eliminates a long retaining wall, on a 7-0 vote, and directed staff to draft conditions requiring fill removal at 178 Simpson Road, where commissioners on a site walk found concrete and asphalt mixed into unauthorized fill.
