Public Services Committee recommends livery license for First Class Limo

MARLBOROUGH — May 8, 2024 — Public Services Committee clears the way for a new Marlborough livery service. Members voted 2-0 Wednesday to recommend a taxi-livery license for Adam Smith, doing business as First Class Limo, a one-vehicle operation based at 715 Robin Hill St. Smith, a longtime professional driver with airline contract experience moving pilots and crews to area hotels, said he sees demand for Logan-area trips that ride-hail drivers often decline or overprice. "I'd like to do something nice for the community," he told the committee, citing the expanded international terminal and growing airline traffic. The Police Department's memo cleared his CORI with no objection. Committee member Robert Preciado pressed on advertising; Smith said he has already built a website. The recommendation now heads to the full City Council for final action.
